2025 – Chairman’s Team

L-R: Gerald Tredinnick, John Atthey, Derek Patterson, Neil Rosen

John Atthey is a trained accountant. He’s originally from Gloucestershire but now lives in London. He formed a serious partnership with Neil Rosen about 7 years ago. They won the England Premier League last year and next month they will be playing together in the Camrose for the third time.

Derek Patterson (aged 60 years and 3/4) lives in Maidstone, Kent, runs Chislehurst Bridge Club and teaches bridge in Blackheath and other private sessions. As a player, he has been lucky enough to have experienced some success at both national and international level. Also, he has had the privilege of being the non-playing captain of several England teams in recent years.

Outside bridge, Derek can sometimes be found engaging in such futile pursuits as: trying to beat par on the golf course, striving to emulate Matteo Mancuso on guitar and, occasionally, attempting to prove the 4-colour Theorem – maybe best to stick to bridge!

Neil Rosen is a full time bridge player and teacher who has run his own club: The Ace of Clubs for about 30 years (it is now online only sadly).

He has won many of the country’s leading tournaments several times. This last year has been successful with a Runner’s up spot in both Crockfords and the Gold Cup together with winning the Premier League.

Despite having played in only a few previous Lederer events Neil will be hoping to add to his tally of three Lederer victories.

Gerald Tredinnick lives in Beckenham in northwest Kent and is retired. He played most of his serious bridge in the 1980s and 1990s when he was a regular in the British Junior and Open teams, but more recently played in the 2019 Camrose Trophy with Derek Patterson.
