2026 – Norwegian Women

Norwegian Women: L-R Ann Karin Fuglestad, Torild Heskje, Gunn Tove Vist, Marianne Harding.

Ann Karin Fuglestad has partnered with Marianne Harding since 2002 and has represented Norway in every European Women’s Championship since then. The golden highlight came in 2024 winning the championship in Herning, Denmark. She has collected numerous national titles, and in 2025 she also captured the Women’s Swiss Teams title at the NABC in Memphis. For Ann Karin, there is simply no such thing as too much bridge — and nothing beats the thrill of a good team event.

Marianne Harding: I come from a family where everyone is supposed to know how to play bridge & chess, paddle kayaks and climb rocks.

My first appearance on the international bridge scene was at age 19 in the Nordic Championships for U21. Ann Karin and I have represented Norway in every European Championship since 2004.Our first big win was in the Nordic Championship in 2007, and greatest success was winning the European Championship 2024. Highly valued are also the two victories in the Reykjavik Open Teams tournament.

As project leader for the Norwegian School bridge project my day job is to create low threshold and inclusive bridge arenas for kids and teenagers.

Torild Heskje is Gunn Tove Vist’s partner in the Norwegian womens team. Their best result was winning the womens event in Herning 2024.

Gunn Tove Vist: I started playing bridge 25 years ago when I was a student. I fell in love with the game, met my fiance through bridge and haven’t looked back. We live on a small farm together with our two boys, Karmen the cat and Kaisa the dog.

I work full time for the Norwegian bridge federation with junior bridge and our schoolbridge project. It means that when I’m not a familymum, soccermum or handballmum, it’s pretty much bridge 24/7.

My first big win in bridge was becoming a Norwegian champion in 2005 and it has been a total of 11 Norwegian titles ever since. I got to play my first championship for the Norwegian ladies team during the nordic championship in 2007, debuting with a win. All in all I have a total of 4 nordic championship wins. In 2009 I won the transnational European Championship mixed teams and the team that plays here in Lederer are reigning European champions ladies national team. That means that I’m missing a world champion title. Have tried several times with 4th place as best result, but I’m not giving up. My dream is still to become a world champion.

Fun fact, other achievements:
– European champion, poker
– Silver medal in the world championship, walking football
