Tom Paske’s Lederer debut must be one of the most successful: his team (Allfrey) wins the whole thing and he and Ed win the Butlers. Well done!
* I think Ed Jones has only appeared once before. So pretty good showing by him too.
Allfrey have a convincing win, Ireland second on a split tie from Gillis. Paske-Jones win the top Butlers prize.

Both Allfrey tables played in 3 diamonds. But only Zia-Bilde as defenders actually made 9 tricks on the hand. It didn’t affect Allfrey’s win but was quite an amusing finish.
We had over 1,000 BBO kibitzers watching the winners play the last match. Many thanks to the Vugraph operators for their help!
Allfrey are 26 VPs ahead. With 50 VPs available for a match it would need a big win for de Botton currently second (against Black) and a loss for Allfrey (against Zia) to change things. Ireland now in third.

Here’s the second-youngest player in the tournament: France’s Baptiste Combescure in action against de Botton. Baptiste is 22.
Allfrey still ahead, France now second. Allfrey has quite a lead though in theory they could still be caught. The real battle now is for second – France now have a small lead over de Botton.
